Skeptics of UHPC still think that it requires special equipment and excessive space. But the reality is that Cor-Tuf UHPC can be batched and poured just like traditional concrete, with no need to retrain workers or purchase new equipment. In fact, our CT25 product can replace regular concrete using conventional methods with superior long-term performance. Ready-mix concrete operations won’t even notice the difference.
A recent demonstration in Rockingham, Virginia confirmed the mobility and ease of Cor-Tuf UHPC. We casted three large blast-resistant panels from a three-cubic-yard batch prepared in a ready-mix truck. The concrete batch consisted of pilot-scale steel fiber and sand, followed by dry CT25 blend, and finished with water and admixtures. No aggregate necessary. The process was quick and seamless, taking only 8.5 minutes to complete in a typical mixing drum. Silos and liquid distributors can be easily incorporated for larger batches and full-scale applications.
We know that construction teams may rely on old-school mixing and placement techniques, or they may need to get creative to get the job done. Cor-Tuf UHPC allows contractors to utilize their own sand and cement using the strategy that best fits their operation – simply add our UHPC without the need for an overhaul. “Your sand, your cement, our UHPC” is the most economical way to start building with concrete that lasts hundreds of years.
It doesn’t get more contractor-friendly than that. Classic batching combined with next-generation results. That’s Cor-Tuf UHPC.
